ARP Case Bolts for EJ engines

Case studs are required when all out performance is the goal, it tightens the crankshaft cavity from opening up or the case halves shifting, both which can lead to premature bearing or crankshaft wear, loss of oil pressure or catastrophic failure. Anytime case bolts are introduced to the case, a line bore or line hone is required as the higher recommended bolt torque egg shapes the current bore. This is a great time to upgrade to pinning the mains too.  If the pinning is performed, it also triggers the bore/honing of the mains so you would kill two birds with one stone.
